1 Corinthians 11:26 (NKJV)
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
Titus 2:11-14 (NKJV)
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
The Lord's Supper is a memorial service that helps us to look back to what Jesus did for us on the cross. It also is a prophetical service as it challenges us to look forward to Christ's return. The celebration therefore nourishes our "blessed hope" which is expressed in 3 ways:
